Junelle Lynch knocked on more than 200 doors in the Gayln Manor neighborhood of Brunswick in recent weeks. Her aim is to collect hundreds of pounds of food for the Brunswick Food Bank.

“I like helping people a lot,” said Junelle, who celebrated her 11th birthday in June.

In her first year, she collected 80 pounds of food in the mostly undeveloped neighborhood, and 214 pounds the next year. The food helped feed many families.

Many students in the colleges and universities are found taking no notice of the waste of water, electricity or paper.

Very few students use washbasins when washing faces. Some schoolgirls do not turn off the taps when putting the facial cream on their faces, leaving the water flow away. A basin of clothes is put under a tap which is turned on at the maximum, and the water in the basin is spilling over, but there is no one in the washroom.
