You are even more fortunate if you can rescue the story of someone who can hire you, promote you, buy from you, or otherwise lift your life. Big winners have excellent memories. When you do them subtle favors like Lend a Helping Tongue, they find a way to pay you back.

My teenage son Karl refused to communicate with others after his father died. As a parent, I tried to do my best to talk to him. But the more I tried, the more he pulled away. When his report card during his junior year, it said that he had been 95 times from classes and had six grades for the year. At this rate he never graduate.
