Once I had to read a text-book which was so expensive for me to buy it. I couldn’t obtain it from the library and an only copy I could find was in a certain bookshop. So I will go along to the shop every afternoon and read a little of the book in a time. One day, therefore, I was disappointed to find the book missing from its usually place. He was about to leave when the owner of the shop waved at me. Expecting to be told off, I went towards him. To my surprise, the owner pointed to the book which placed in a corner. “I put it there in case it should be bought.” He said kindly, left me to continue my reading.

The news which the English Entrance Examination will be reformed has caused a big “earthquake” in our country. Many people, included students, are for it. But there are also some people are against it. Then, is it better to do so or not? Personally, I think the reform has between advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, it can reduce students’ learn burden and enable English to return back to its true function. On the other hand, it will cause students to spend less time on studying English and to attached less importance to English. If so, students will not have a good knowledge of English. What’s more, if students don’t have so a good ability, they will not be able to broaden our horizon and meet the future challenges.

In my village a lot of children have left school for many differentreason. Some families are so poor to send their children to school, so their kids have to earn money to support their families. It can be seen, more and more people own mobile phones in China now. At the end of 2002, there were 20 millions mobile phone users. By 2005 a number reached up to 30 million. People have found mobile phones convenience. They can get in touch with each other whenever or wherever they like. There’re different functions to meeting different needs, such as surf the Internet. However, it may bring us some trouble. For an example, the radiation from the phone may do harm our health. In spite of this, the number of people having mobile phones are increasing steadily.
