HOW HE BECAME SHORTER AND SHORTER 　　Once upon a time, there lived a bookworm in a village, who was eager to see his son grow quickly. One day in spring, he took his son to a small tree. He measured his son and knocked in a nail in the trunk as a mark. Winter came after autumn and it was snowing hard. The next year when the 　　bookworm came here with his son to see how tall the little one had grown. To his surprise, he found that his son had become“shorter”. He realized that his son was“ill”. So he took his son to the hospital at once. Of course, the boy was not worth examining. The doctor did nothing but write a few words on a piece of paper and told the bookworm to let his son walk on stilts.
