You’re listening to Radio Five. Regular listeners know that every Thursday I give a list of places in the city that are looking for volunteers. Perhaps you’d like to get a pencil and write down the ones that interest you.
Tiny Tot Preschool is looking for someone who will sing songs to the children on Tuesday mornings. The best person for the job would be someone who can play the piano or guitar.
Primary School 39 needs volunteers to tutor students in English after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you are good at English, that is a great chance.
The Parks Department needs volunteers to help clean up the parks before National Day. If you like to work outdoors and help the environment, this job is for you.
Lastly, the Community Center is looking for volunteers to work with older people on weekends. You can help read and write letters for seniors with bad eyesight. The Center also needs a few students to do fix-up work on houses. If you often help your grandfather repair his house, perhaps this is the perfect job for you.

Puffer Fish
Puffer Fish, found in all Japanese seas, have very interesting features. They are very easy to catch but must not be eaten because their flesh and organs contain a poison. Anyone who does eat the flesh can become sick very quickly. They may even stop breathing.
The Blue Bottle
The Blue Bottle is found in most Caribbean waters. Blue Bottles float lightly on the surface of the water but their tentacles (触须) can be as long as 10 metres. Blue Bottles are much less dangerous than some other jellyfish but they can give a swimmer a bad sting (刺) if the swimmer accidentally touches them.
Stingrays
There are many different kinds of stingrays in Mauritius waters. They usually swim and feed on the bottom of the sea. Accidents can happen if people stand on them or try to pick them up. Stingrays have a sting on their tail. These stings have poison on them. If someone is stung the wound can easily become infected.

Young people can have problems with their minds. Some students become worried because they have to study very hard. Others have trouble getting on well with people like their parents and classmates.
Liu Wei, a Junior 2 student from Hefei, could not understand his teacher and was doing badly in his lessons. He became so worried about it that he started to cut his finger with a knife. Another student,14-year-old Yan Fang from Guangzhou, was afraid of exams. She got very worried in the test, and when she looked at the exam papers, she couldn’t think of anything to write.
A recent report from Jiefang Daily says about 18% of Shanghai teenagers have mental(心理的)problems. Their troubles include being worried and very unhappy, and having problems in learning and getting on well with people. Many students who have problems won’t go for advice(劝告)or help . Some think they will look stupid if they go to see a doctor. Others don’t want to talk about their secret.
Liang Yuezhu , an expert on teenagers from Beijing Anding Hospital has the following advice for teenagers.
1). Talk to your parents or teachers often.
2). Take part in group activities and play sports.
3). Go to see a doctor if you feel unhappy or unwell.

Advertisements can be placed nearly everywhere to catch our attention, they have even become popular on the Internet. That means that customers can see them at any time and from any place. In cities, you can see them on the sides of buses, taxis and trains. There are advertisements high up on the sides of buildings. The names of famous brands, like Nike, Pepsi, Guess and Apple, appear on shoes, clothing and bags. So when people use these branded products in their daily life, they are helping the products to sell more of them.
Every company gets you to recognize its name. The company name is always printed in the same way, using the same letters and the same colors. So, when customers see the same “look” of the company name day-in and day-out, they begin to recognize it without having to read it.
We cannot predict the future of advertising, but one thing is certain- advertisements are here to stay and will always change the way of our life.

Many people have contributed to the Olympic Games. At the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, the People’s Republic of China returned to the Games after the 32 years of absence. Deng Yaping, who won four Olympic gold medals in 1992 and 1996 and became an IOC member in 2000, is perhaps the greatest female table tennis player the world has ever seen. At the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Liu Xiang excited people all over Asia when he became the first Asian to win the gold medal in the men’s 110-meet hurdles. Another superstar I would like to mention is Michael Jordan. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Jordan won his second Olympic gold medal as part of the so-called “Dream Team” of NBA players.
