I’m Li Hua from Class 1 Senior 3 Xinhua School in China. I’m very happy to be given a
chance to put forward suggestions about the programs for the English singing evening.
I would like to recommend two English songs for us all to sing: Home, My Sweet Home and Yesterday Once more. On the one hand, these two songs are popular both for the Chinese and American students. On the other hand, these two songs can show our understanding about the Homestay program and will let us keep this experience in our heart for a long time. And we will regard the homes we are now staying in as our sweet home forever.

My wife, daughter, and I moved into our home nine years ago. We called the area in front of our house “rock graden” as it is full of rocks.
Last summer I found a tiny little plant which I could not immediately identify at the end of the rock garden. I knew I didn’t plant it and my wife claimed that she didn’t either. We decided to let it continue growing until we could figure out what it was.
Weeks passed and as I made my way back to the mystery plant, it appeared to be a sunflower. It was spindly with a tall skinny stalk and only one head on it. I decided to take care of it and weed around it. As I pulled rocks from the area to get to the weeds, I notived something unusual. The sunflower had not started where I saw the stalk begin. It actually had begun under a big rock and grown under and around it to reach the sun.
