Dear Andy,
      I am an university student. I once thought life at university is excellent, but now I changed my mind. I
have three roommates, and I was the last one move into the dormitory. Last term, we got along peaceful and
happily. But I find they are not willing to be with me now. They don't talk with me, and they 've become even
cold towards me than before. Many time, I wanted to talk with my roommates about that how I felt, but I
failed to find an opening. When leaving alone, I always recall this sadness. I am an honest student. Why can

I go abroad for further study half a year ago. I received a lot of present. All were wrapped in color
paper. Among them were two presents which really interesting me. My sister bought me the book
with color pictures about body language and with words about customs of differently countries in
it. My brother gave me a note, which was read, "My present for you has been put in my
bedroom. " While I hurried back to my bedroom, I found a box in it. Opening the box, I found a
pocket computer. However, I was very glad. I understood these two presents would be great help
to me in improving my English.

     Helen Keller was one of the greatest woman in the 20th century. She was born in America in the
June, 1880. When she was nineteen months old, she becomes blind and deaf because a serious illness.
From then on she lived in darkness and silence. Her parents were great worried. When she was seven,
they found a teacher for her. With Helen's strong will and intelligences, combined with his teacher's skill
and patience, they succeeded. Helen Keller graduated from a college and got a degree. Late on she
devoted all herself to help the blind and deaf children. She wrote many books but The Story of My Life
was a remarkable one.

     When Joe left university, he got a good work in a bike factory. But after he had been worked
there for some years, he decided to change. So he put notice in several newspapers, said what
experience he had and the kind of job he would like to have. One of the answers he accepted was
from a man was looking for a job, too. This man wrote to him. "Dear sir, when you get a new job,
be kind enough to give your name and address to your present boss as I have been trying to find a
position as yours for a long time." After he reads the letter, he suddenly realized that what he had

     There is a public library in every town in Britain. Anyone can borrow books if he or she wish.
In some place you may borrow as more books as you need, but in others you are limited in a
certain number of books. You may keep the books for several weeks so as you can have enough
time to finish it. If the book you want is out, you may ask it to be kept for you. Most public libraries
also have a reading-room, that you can sit at the desk and read the daily newspapers, magazines
and the other books, but you are not allow to take them out.
