Are you a TV lover? Can you think of living without TV?

A group of Americans who form the TV-Turn off Network(网络),have an idea. From April 10 to 25 ,they are asking children all over the world to turn off their TVs for one week.1

TV-Turn off Network says watching TV too much can give children big problems:school, health and family.2

Bad for your studies——American scientists did a study of 1 ,300 children. They saw that if children watch lots of TV,they don't do well in school. 3

Bad for your health ― More children are getting overweight(超重的)because they watch too much TV. Overweight children become ill more easily. And studies show that when children watch lots of TV, 4Too much TV is also bad for your eyes.

Bad for family life― About 40% of American families watch TV at dinner time. That means that they don't talk very much when they eat together.

5  An American study said that before a child reaches 18 years old,he will see 200,000 violent(暴力的)things on TV. Some kids become violent in real life.

If you turn off your TV for a week, maybe you can find something fun to do. Maybe you can read some books,or learn to swim,or paint a picture and so on. It might be very difficult for many TV lovers, but why not give it a try?
