After I did the " Weighing in on Recycling" experiment(实验)，I wanted to find out more about how I could help reduce the amount of rubbish we produce. I asked my friends at the Ohio EPA and they told me about the three R's ― reduce, reuse and recycle.
One of the first things we all should do to help protect the environment is to try to produce less rubbish ( reduce) by doing things like putting our lunches in boxes that can be reused， taking smaller portions(部分)of food for dinner so that we don't waste food when we're full，and writing on both sides of pieces of paper.
The next important thing to remember is to reuse. Think about the bags you get from the store. They can be reused to cany your lunch, as rubbish bags or even to collect cans for recycling. You can even take them back to the store next time to carry your things instead of getting new bags.
The third step is to recycle. Be sure that you don't throw away things that can be recycled into something else. Paper，plastic and aluminum (铅)cans can all be recycled.
Let's try to do more of the three R's every
day.
