Everyone worries. But how do you deal with your worries? Whether your worries are big or small, you can take these three steps to do with your worries:
1. Try to find out what you’re worded about
Sometimes, you will know what you’re worried about. Other times, you might not. Try to find it out first; if you can’t, you can ask for help.
2. Think of ways to make it better
There is always something you can do to help you feel less worded. Sitting there worrying is no fun and it won’t solve your problem.
Grades at school are often top worries for kids. If you’re worded about grades, ask yourself these questions:
★ Why are grades important? What do grades mean to me?
★ How do I get ready for class? Do I go over my notes even when there isn’t a test?
★Do I have a good place to do my homework?
★ Have I tried different ways of studying?
If your worry is about a fight you had with a friend, you might write down all the things you could do: write a note to him or her, invite him or her to a basketball game, say sorry to him or her, etc. Once you have a list of things you could do, you can choose the one that gets your friend back.
3. Ask for help
When you’re worried, it can help to find someone to talk to. You can ask your parents, friends, or teachers for help.

These simple ways can increase(增加)your popularity and win you more friends,so why not try them?
●PAYING ATTENTION TO OTHERS This will reduce any shyness you may have. You’ll be more relaxed and therefore more natural and fun. And you will get more good-people will love the fact that you’re paying attention to them while you don’t have to worry about what people think of you.
●LOOKING PEOPLE IN THE EYE Making eye contact is very important because it shows you’re interested in them. If you let your eyes wander(游移)or keep looking over their shoulders, people will feel slighted(轻视),and they’ll like you less they would otherwise.
●ASKING QUESTIONS Doing this gives you two advantages,It shows other people that you are indeed paying attention to and that you consider what they are telling you important. Being sure to follow up when you’ve shared a conversation with someone about something important in his / her life,be sure to ask about it later. This shows that you listen and you care.
●MAKING AN EFFORT TO SMILE A smile means acceptance,and that makes people open up to you. Make a conscious(有意识的)effort(努力)one day to smile at the people you stay or work with and watch how well they respond (作出反应)to you;
●BEING RELIABLE(可靠的)People like those who help them, and they quickly begin to hate those who don’t.

Hi! My name is Robert and I live in Chicago. My school is called Parkside Elementary. It is Jake and Elizabeth’s school too. Michael and Trevor’s school is called Lincoln Middle School. In the USA many students go to elementary school between the ages of 5-10, then middle school between the ages of 11-13, and then a four year high school, and last but not least, many people go to college or vocational school. Our elementary school starts at 8:30 am and ends at 3:20 pm. We go to school on Monday through Fridays and have the weekends off.
Some of the favorite sports here in America are basketball, baseball, football, soccer, hockey, and more. But, my favorite sport is football. My favorite player in the NFL (National Football League) is Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears ( the Bears are my favorite team too).
Americans wear jeans, a shirt, socks, shoes, and sometimes a hat. I usually wear a baseball hat, my favorite pants, and my favorite shirt. My pants have 4 pockets on it, and my shirt has red and black stripes on it.
There is no common agreement in the west about the best method of education. Many views can be found among parents, teachers, and students.

Dear Estelle, Saturday, 5th June
I hope you’ re well and not working too hard! I’ ve been revising for my exams now for the last two weeks. That’ s why I haven’ t written for such a long time.
Since the beginning of this year we’ ve been doing a project called ’ World Class’. Have you heard of it.’? Not everyone in the class could take part, but luckily I could. The school chooses a ’twin school’ (姊妹学校) in a different area of the world. Our head teacher chose a school in Uganda. They gave us someone to write to from that school. For three months, I’ve written to a girl called Louisa, who is the same age as me.
It’ s been more interesting to hear about her life. She’ s told me all about her school and described her daily (日常的) life. I can’ t believe that her School doesn’ t. have any electricity. She goes to ’school from eight o’ clock in the morning until six. O’clock. in the evening. I can’ t believe how lucky we are here! She’ s also told me that she often can’ t go to school because she has to look after her baby brother and sister. She’s tried to teach me some of her language and it’ s really difficult.
I love it because it’ s the first time I’ ve thought about what life must be like somewhere else. I can’ t believe people miss classes here when everything is so easy for us. I think more people should help out with projects like this. At the weekend we’ re going to have a sports day to help raise money to send to the school. Perhaps one day I’ll be able to go to Uganda and meet Louisa myself--who knows?
Lots of 1ove,
Suzanne
