My name is David and I was born in the United States. My life looked bright and was filled with hopes. My parents got married in 1976, and I was born the next year.

As I grew into a man, I often asked my father for advice and support. There were many things about his character that I admired(钦佩), but I often thought that my father’s ideas were from the past and outdated.

I did well as a student and was the first person in my family to graduate from university. I went on to be a university professor and writer, and most people would think I have had a very successful life. But I know that much of my success is due to the lessons that my father gave me.

My dad gave me many gifts, including the friendly smile that my friends like best.

Thank you again, dad. I miss you very much and I am proud of being your son. Happy Father’s Day!

Mrs. Robinson worked in a big school in America. She had boys and girls in her class, and she always enjoyed teaching them, because they were quick and thought about everything carefully. One day she said to the children, “ People in a lot of countries of Asia wear white clothes at funeral, but people in America and in Europe wear white clothes when they are happy. What color does a woman wear in this country when she marries?” Mary said , “ White , Miss, because she is happy.” “ That’s good, Mary,” Mrs. Robinson said. “ You’re quite right. She wears white because she’s happy.”

But then one boy in the class put his hand up. “Yes, Dick!” Mrs. Robinson said, “ Do you have any questions?”
