Welcome to this short tour of London. In this square we are standing in the middle of London. Opposite is the National Gallery, a museum with lots of famous paintings. Go along the red street to Buckingham Palace. The queen lives here.

Turn left and go to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Opposite that you can see the London Eye. It takes you 135 meters above the River Thames. You can see most of London on a clear day.

When you are tired, the best way to see London is by boat. You can get the boat near Big Ben. As you go along the river, the London Eye is on your right.

Get off the boat at Tower Bridge. Then you can see the Tower of London next to the bridge. The Tower of London is the city’s oldest palace. It is nine hundred years old.

Take the boat back along the river. Get off the boat and go past the station and walk along the street. Opposite is the old fruit and vegetable market. They don’t sell fruit and vegetables now. There are stores and restaurants, and lots of street musicians. Turn left into King’s Street, and go past the church. You’re now back where you start, at the square. Now you finish your tour.

We use alarm clocks every day in order to make sure we wake up on time. Alarm clocks used to be a simple product that shows the time and rings when set. Here we put together a list of cool alarm clocks which not only wake you up but also make you work for them.

Here is an alarm clock that requires some effort to turn it off. You must throw the hand grenade alarm clock away like a true grenade in order to stop the madness. This could truly be what people want when waking up tired. The only problem is…it won’t get you out of bed.

You want something that will make sure to get you out of bed? A carpet alarm clock will do. It will continue to ring until you step on it with your own two feet. Well, if you have kids, you could always scream at them to come into your bedroom and step on it for you…but that would seem a little more difficult.

This must be the best and cruelest way to get exercise…to battle with your alarm clock. It is a great and cool alarm clock that requires you to pick up the dumbbells in order to turn the ringing off and get back to sleep.

You may be a person that could easily get out of bed if you had the right kind of sounds, music or words. And this is what this MP3 alarm clock hopes to do by allowing you to set the rings with your favorite sounds. For some people it may be birds’ sweet sounds.

Researchers(研究者) say that nearly two thirds of children don’t get enough sleep, and this can make them nervous and slower at school. So how long should young people sleep each night? The answer is between 8 and 10 hours. If you don’t get enough sleep at night, you’ll have less energy the next day.

A report shows that children sleep less because they have TVs and computers in their rooms, and busy parents don’t read to their younger children at night any more. The traditional “bedtime story” helps children to relax and fall asleep peacefully. Children with TVs and computers in their bedrooms were more likely to sleep badly, and to get less than eight hours sleep. Even losing one hour’s sleep a night can mean that children do worse than usual at school.

British scientists think that your brain(大脑) keeps working while you’re asleep. To show that they were right, they gave two groups of people a problem to work out. One group went to sleep, and the other group stayed awake. You want to know the result? The people who slept worked out the answer more quickly. Researchers explained that their brains were trying to find the answer while the people were asleep. So, make sure you get enough sleep tonight, and you’ll be at your best tomorrow!
