Whether you play e-sports (电子竞技)or not , you might have heard of iG , a Chinese e-sports club . On the night of November 3 , iG beat a European’s e-sports club and won the 2018 League of Legends (LOL)(英雄联盟) World Cup on Korea . It was the first time in the events eight-year history that a Chinese club won.

The victory showed how e-sports has progressed in China in recent years. A growing number of e-sports clubs have been set up in China in the last 10 years or so, and more young gamers are working as e-sports players. However, becoming a professional(专业的)e-sports player is not all about having fun or playing games.

E-sports players have to work hard every day. “We start to practice right after we get up in the morning and usually last until midnight,” said Huang Fuquan, a player from iG. “There is at least 12 hours of work every day.”

Many players practice so much that their body may easily get hurt . They also face lots of pressure. Some e-sports clubs have doctors and psychologists to help their players.

The road to being a professional player is not smooth. So if you want to turn your love for gaming into a full-time job, ask yourself this first: Are you really prepared? Because you need to make a lot more efforts than others .

Have you ever seen a car without a driver? It sounds crazy, but these computer-driven driverless cars will soon be filling roads near you.1.

So how? The cars have sensors(感应器)all around which can find other cars and objects in the road. Road signs are read by cameras, and satellite navigation systems(卫星导航系统)are used so the car knows how to get where you want to go. 2..Finally, a central computer system takes in all the information that it receives from the sensors and cameras and works out when to speed up, stop and turn.

Sound like your idea of heaven(天堂)? Sitting back, looking out of the windows and even watching a film or reading a book while ‘driving’ would be possible with this new technology. You wouldn’t have to worry about remembering directions to where you’re going.3. they would obey the rules and have quicker action times when in dangerous situations.

4..Computers would have difficulties making ethical(道德的)decisions: if a child ran into the road, would the computer choose to hit the child or turn suddenly in the risk of killing car’s passengers? Moreover, I personally find driving fun 一I’d miss driving a car myself. 5.. Should children, or drunk people, be allowed in a driverless car by themselves? Or would there need to be a person with a driving license in the car at all times?

I’m not certain I’d want a driverless car 一 but it’s only a matter of time before they’ll become more affordable and popular on our roads.

A. However, there are many drawbacks of driverless cars.

B: Companies like Google and Tesla have been designing and testing these cars, and the technology is there.

C: What’s more, computers would also drive more safely than people .

D:All you have to do is type in the address!

E: The driverless car knows all the directions well.

F: There would also be many other decisions to be made .

Ying Dishes In North and South China

There have been many discussions about the differences in diet between the North and South in China. For example, the northern Chinese may wonder why southerners must have stir-fried vegetables as the last dish for a meal, while the southerners may be surprised to know that people from north are used to hoarding cabbages before winter.

Recently, different understandings of ying dishes caused another round discussion on the internet.

In northern China, ying dishes refer to those which are special and delicious enough to show your warmth when you treat guests. Dishes with plenty of meat and fish are often considered as ying dishes which are usually served in basins rather than plates. Some said that ying dishes are quite common in the North, which are usually made of completely beef, lamb and pork and other kinds of meat. People cook these kinds of meat together with sauce in a large pot.

For most southern Chinese, however, ying dishes are quite unfamiliar. Seven out of eight styles of Chinese cuisine (菜系)come from southern parts of China, which have different kinds of cooking methods. The dishes are put on the fine plates . There are a large number of ying dishes in South China with perfect colors, smells and tastes.

In Guangdong province for example, soup is an important part of Guangdong cuisine. It stress exquisite (精致的) preparations and provides enjoyment with well-chosen ingredients and beautiful presentation. Soup is usually stewed (炖)for several hours with vegetables or seafood rather than meat, and is often considered as the ying dish . It is said that soup should always be served first on the table with great expectations and people will comment after trying. A restaurant which is unable to provide satisfying soup is often considered a failure.

After the heated discussion, people from different provinces willingly and proudly shared the ying dishes in their hometown. What about you? Would you like to share some ying dishes in your hometown?
