Do you feel bored on weekends? Do you want to spend a free weekend with your children? Here's what you can do.

Visit your community library

A library not only is a house of books, but also has many CDs and DVDs. Many libraries also have story time for young children, film nights, book clubs and many other events-complete for free.

Introduce yourself to your neighbors if you don't know them well. Invite someone you are interested in over for a cup of coffee and a chat to know each other better.

Clean out your media collection

Just go through what you've got, decide which ones you'd like to keep, and give up the rest. You can either sell them at a used media shop or exchange them online.

Organize a family walking tour

Find out the interesting places in your town, and then go on a walking tour of them. Pack a lunch in your backpack in the park. You can easily turn this into a full day with your family.

Start a book club, or find one to join

If you like reading and know other people that enjoy it, too, consider starting a book club with them. You all can read the same book for a week, and then meet to talk about it.

Procrastination is something that many people have experienced at some point in their life. The word comes from the Latin words “pro” meaning“for”and“cras”meaning “tomorrow”. But it can be more than just putting off work or a later time; it can be about giving up long-term goals for short-term desires(欲望).

A new phrase has been going around Chinese social media lately, with people describing themselves as “active losers”. It means that they set themselves many goals, but they always find excuses, and never really achieve them. In fact, they are just acing serious procrastination.

I once knew someone in my college who had to drop out (退学) because he preferred video games to study. He went to all his classes and was an active member of school clubs. However, his mind was never really on task. He spent all his free time playing games and believed he could still achieve good grades by "finishing the work tomorrow. That “tomorrow”was the end of the semester, and my college had to ask him to “take a break”.

For those of you who think: “ I'll never procrastinate that badly,” I ask you this: “When did you last set a fitness goal? A weight goal? A reading goal? How many years has it been?”Although a fitness goal may not be so important as school grades, it does not mean the goal should drag on for years. So stop making excuses for yourself; take actions right now and achieve your goals.

A. 妄想症 B. 拖延症 C. 强迫症 D. 多动症

D. how the student became an active member of school clubs

4.The writer advises us to ____.

A. take a break B. achieve good school grades

C. set a fitness goal D. start working towards our goals

5.The writer thinks that_____.

A. active losers never procrastinate

B. there is no way to control procrastination

C. some people don't realize that they procrastinate

D. it's wrong to ask the student in his college to drop out

There are some skills for students to listen to the teacher in class, which means you're going to have to practice it. Just as you would have to practice basketball to be a better player, you also have to practice listening. How to listen in school? 1.

One of the things you need to do is to make sure that your mind doesn't wander (漫游). It's easy to start thinking about other things, especially when you' re not interested in the subject. 2.

Next, listen for the main ideas. If you want to catch every little piece of information, you'll feel tired and bored.

3.Not only does this show respect(尊敬) to the teacher, it also helps prevent your mind from wandering. 4.Or it could just be someone talking to their neighbors who shouldn't be. It can even be some birds outside the classroom window, or a group of kids who are talking loudly as they pass the door to your room.

Finally, you need to take notes because you will not remember everything the teacher said. You'll have to take down the notes so that you can study it after class. 5.

Listening isn't always easy, but if you follow these simple steps, you’ll be much more successful in your classes.

A. Here are some suggestions.

B. You'll also need to look at the teacher.

C. So make yourself pay attention to what the teacher is saying.

D. Taking notes also makes you pay attention to the class.

E. It might be a friend who is trying to pass you a note.
