The Sahara Desert is a very difficult place for humans to live .Only a few plants are able to grow in the dry climate (气候) .But there are many oases. An oasis is a place where plants and trees can grow because there is water. There are about 90 large oases in the Sahara,where people have built villages.Some animals are able to live in the desert too. The most famous desert animals are,of course,camels.They can live for many days without food or water.
Antarctica(南极洲)
Antarctica is a continent (洲) which is under almost 2 kilometers of ice.The South Pole is in Antarctica and is the most southern place on Earth. It is always very cold. In the winter the temperature falls to - 80Tl!People have never lived there for long because it is too cold. There are scientists,but they only stay for a few months.
In Antarctica animals and plants can’t live easily on the land,but the sea is full of creatures (生物) .Many different kinds of penguins (企鶴) and seals (海豹) live there all year. They spend most of their lives swimming in the freezing Antarctic water. The sea provides lots of food for them because it is full of fish and sea life.The largest seals in the
world live in Antarctica.They Ve called elephant seals.
