　　One day, Jim bought himself a pair of trousers．But they were about two inches longer．When he got home, his mother and sister were cooking supper in the kitchen．He said to them, “The trousers are too long．They need to be shorten by about two inches．Would one of you like to do this for me, please?” His mother and sister were busy cooking and they said nothing．

　　As soon as his mother finished cooking, she quietly went upstairs to her son’s bedroom and shortened the trousers by two inches．After that, she came downstairs without saying anything．After supper, Jim’s sister suddenly remembered her brother’s trousers．She ran upstairs and also took two inches off the legs of the trousers．
