I was bom in Newcastle,a city in the north-east of England. Newcastle is on the banks (岸) of the Jliver Tyne. In the 11th century,a “yw castle(城堡) ” was built there,which gave the city its name.

I moved from Newcastle ten years ago but I often return. I miss the people,who are so warm and friendly,and I miss the wild,beautiful countryside to the north of the city. I also miss my favorite sculpture,uThe Angel of the Northw,which greets you as you arrive in the North East.
People who are bom near the River Tyne have a special name. They are called “Geordies”. I am very pleased to be a “Geordie”！
