Every weekend in Britain, DIY shops and garden centres are always full of people. A large number of people spend their weekends doing improvements (改进)to their homes instead of having a rest.
DIY projects are very popular and there are lots of TV programmes which show people how they can improve their homes.
Some people like decorating better – putting up wall- paper and painting walls, also there are many other DIY projects that people decide to take on, from changing the new floor to making a new shower. They are not so difficult for them.
Unluckily, some people bite off more than they can chew (不自量力), and try to take on jobs which always go wrong in the end. For example, the shops often tell people that it’s not safe(安全的) for a person to do anything electrical (电的). However, many people don’t care about this advice and put themselves in danger.
