　　Winona Ryder was born on October 29, 1971 in Winona, Minnesota, USA. She has been in a lot of very different films, like “Little Women ”, and more recently, “Alien : Resurrection”. She has won a lot of prizes for her films.

　　But who is she really? What was her life like when she was young? Well ,as you can see, Winona's name comes from the place where she was born. Her real name is Winona Laura Horowitz . She has 3 brothers and sisters-Sunyata, Jubal and Yuri . Winona Ryder grew up on a Californian farm with a lot of horses but no TV. She had a lot of problems at school because people thought she was a boy-Winona had short hair and wore the kind of clothes that boys wore. They hit her and bullied (欺负) her, and she left high school and had “home-schooling ”, with private (私人的) teachers who came to her house. When she graduated she had“A's”in all her subjects. Her parents didn't want Winona to go into movies ,but today they always watch her new films when they come out.
