Every day in China， about 200 million children go to school. Many of them take school buses. What should we do to keep these students safe on the road?

On April 5， the State Council (国务院) published new rules about school bus safety. These new rules are stricter than the old ones.

Under the new rules， local governments must make sure that students go to nearby schools or boarding (寄宿的) schools to reduce traffic risks. Also， local governments must help kids in the countryside reach their school buses.

From now on， school buses have a speed limit of 80 km/h on highways and 60km/h on normal roads. While on the road， other cars must let school buses go first.

The new rules also say that school buses must never be overloaded (超载的).

There are many other rules as well. A school bus must have more than seven seats. On each bus， there must be at least one adult(成年人) to keep an eye on the kids. Each school bus must have a fire extinguisher (灭火器)， a first aid kit (急救箱) and a GPS.

Last year， a series of school bus accidents happened in China. To stop such accidents， the Central Government decided to strengthen (加强) the rules for school buses.

The most serious accident happened in Gansu in November， when a nine-seat minibus crashed. There were 62 children inside， and 21 of them died.

A very important world problem is the growth of population on the earth. The population of the world today is more than 6,500,000,000. That is a great number and we know it quite well. The important thing is not how large the population of the world is now, but is the rate (速度) of the growth. It is about 1.63% every year after the number of dead people has been taken away.

To give you some ideas of the birth rate, look at the second hand of your watch. Every second, four babies are born in the world. Another baby! Another baby! Another baby! Another baby! You can not speak quickly enough to keep up with the birth rate. The population is growing faster and faster. So it goes on, hour after hour. What does success mean? Is it becoming famous, rich, coming up with an idea that changes people’s lives, or helping others and feeling happy?

People who have a billion dollars, for example, are they successful? Why don’t they stop trying to make money then? Why would they possibly need more than a billion dollars? They try to make more because there will never be enough . They will never be happy enough.

If all that you’re working for is money, you will do terrible things to get it. If all that you want is a successful business, you will cheat people to get it . If all that you want is fame(名声)，you will give up your dignity to achieve it .

What’s the real success? For me, being rich or famous is not all to life. I might have a lot of readers now on Zen Habits, but I don’t feel that’s what makes me a success. I’ve been a success even when I had no readers, because I was doing what I loved. Even when no one else would have called me a successful man. I loved writing, and I was happy. Success isn’t about achieving something in the future, but about doing something right now that you love.

So, forget about success, and just find joy and love right now, in this moment. That is a success you can achieve, without any method. Just go out and do it.
