My father often drank a lot. When I was five years old,my parents divorced. My mother worked day and night to support the family. This left me with a lot of time by myself. I never played sports or after-school activities. I think that without a parent's support it's hard for a teen to have his dream come true. If I had gotten the love of my parents,I would have been able to learn how to build confidence,friendships,and teamwork.

But I got into the wrong crowd. I made some bad choices with friends. When I met more people who took drugs and alcohol,I began to follow them. The drugs were finally filling the space that my parents left.

My mom was angry because I was letting her down. I didn't know how to stop and I couldn’t imagine my life without the drugs. I was angry at her because I thought I was not important to her. But the one thing about my mom was that she did not give up. I needed treatment to fight my addiction. Experts were able to help us. They were able to help my mom learn how to push me when I needed it,and communicate with an angry teenager. Luckily,the method worked well.
