When we talked about the space,we know the universe means the earth, the sun,the moon, the stars and so on in space. Many of the stars are so far away that we can’t see them.

Through our geography lessons,we know the earth (1)goes around the sun,and the moon goes around the earth.

We have day and night because the earth keeps moving all the time.Just because the moon is closer to the earth than the sun,it looks much bigger than the sun.(2)The sun is bright enough to give out very strong light. The moon can’t give any light at all,but it looks quite bright, too. Why?In fact, the light from the moon comes from the sun.(3)But in fact the stars are much bigger and brighter than the moon.

(4)在宇宙中仍然有许多其他的行星。But of all these planets, only on the earth there are living things.People on the earth have studied the space all the time. They’ve sent many spaceships into the space many times. On November 3 and 14,2011,Chinese scientists let Shenzhou Ⅷ successfully dock with(对接)the Tiangong Ⅰtwice. This is one of the greatest events in the history of China’s space.

What does a typical day look like for a high school student in the United States? Well everyone's is very different. I can describe my normal day in high school for you.

Our school day usually went from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. However, some days I had cheerleading(拉拉队活动)practice or play practice at 6:30 am. If I had cheerleading practice, I would go to school early, and if I had time, I would eat breakfast at the school dining hall.

Then I would go towards my locker and my books for the first period. Each class went for about 50 minutes and we had 10 minutes to get to the next classroom. We studied everything from science to maths and Spanish to PE.

I played the flute(长笛)in a band, so one of my class periods was used for that. Lunchtime would be at 12:30 and then we had some time to hang out outside or by our lockers. At the end of the day there was a seminar(研讨会) period. It could be used for studying or meetings.

After school, I would cheer at a basketball game, be a lifeguard(救生员)or have speech practice. My family always tried to have dinner together at around 7 pm. I would finally start studying at around 8 or 9 pm.

So there you have it ! That's my typical day in high school.

When I was very young, I did not like to do things with my own hands. I did not need to learn to do anything. My parents were always there to do everything for me. They got the meals ready for me, washed the clothes for me, made the bed for me, and even took off the shoes for me.

After I was old enough to go to school, I often had to do some homework after I came back home from school. At first, I was very lazy and did not want to do any homework, so I still wanted my parents to do it for me. My dad said that he could do the homework for me, but my mum asked him not to take this crazy idea into his mind. She said to my dad, “If you do not let your son learn to do his own homework, he will never learn to do anything!” So my dad had to ask me to do the homework for me. In this way, I began to learn to do my homework all by myself. However, he said that he would help me by checking my homework for me. In this way, I began to learn to do my homework. To my parents’ great surprise, I did most of the homework very well! My parents were so glad that they both held me in their arms and said, “You are really great!”

Hearing my parents say so, I was very excited. I was so excited that I decided to learn to do more things by myself. To my parents’ pleasant surprise, I can even help them do some housework. I am really glad that I can do so many things myself.
