What is the most stressful thing in school? It is probably exams.Exams can put us under a lot of pressure. But some students do well under pressure, while others feel terrible. So,why do some students perform better under stress?

It all comes down to dopamine(多巴胺).Dopamine is a chemical(化学物质) in our brain that sends signals(信号) to our body.It has many important roles:influencing memory, attention and how we learn. Our brains work best when there is a balance of dopamine — not too much or too little.

大脑通过两种方式控制多巴胺。It either takes out dopamine quickly,or gradually.Exam success can be connected to how fast dopamine goes back to a balance.

What happens when we take an exam? If you become stressed, your brain will start to overload(超负荷) on dopamine. It is like a cup overflowing with water. The quicker you can go back to a balance of dopamine, the quicker you will concentrate, helping you perform better on a test.

Scientists found that, during a test, people who slowly got back to a balance of dopamine scored 8 percent lower. That's the difference between a good mark and a bad mark.

But don't fear, there is some good news.The__study__also__found__that__the__more__practice__you__get,the__less__stressed__you'll__be.So,it turns out that practice really does make perfect.

In today’s world many people seem to be hungry for money. Some of them even lose their lives for it. Money does have its most useful effect(影响) on the poor, but once a person has a rich life, a lot more money doesn’t mean more happiness.

If money was everything, all millionaires(百万富翁) would have true love, true friendship, good health and a long life. However, this is not always true.

Nothing else is more pleasant than the three words which are “I love you”. But can love be bought? I’m afraid not. Love means to give, not to take. To every person, health and long life are probably the most precious(宝贵的) things. Well, can health and a long life be bought with money? The answer is “No”.

Of all the longest living people in the world, few of them are millionaires. True friendship can’t be bought either. In a word, where money is worshiped(崇拜), money can cause brothers to quarrel, lovers to hate, strangers to fight and so on. We got up at six in the morning on that summer day, because Grandpa was to take me to the park. With Mum, Aunt and three cousins, it took two taxis to get us all to the park.

Everyone was prepared to get on the big bus and see the wild animals in the park. As the bus moved, I saw many animals. There were tigers, lions, bears, monkeys, pandas and elephants. Some were lying down; some were standing there; some others were walking. And none of them were afraid of people.

After seeing the wild animals, we had lunch at the wild animal restaurant. We then watched goat fighting and horse fighting shows. The park had many other shows besides the fighting shows. For example, there was a sea lion show. We watched mountain goats walking on a steel wire(钢丝), monkeys riding bikes, and tigers jumping through hoops of fire(火圈).

The most unforgettable thing at the zoo was that I got in a tiger cage and took a picture with a tiger. I was very scared at that time, but when I saw a lot of people taking pictures, I was not so afraid. Grandpa said I had more expressions than the tiger.
