ÌáʾÎÊÌ⣺ When should you hand in the poster?

What would you like to share with Peter about designing the poster?

¡¾´ð°¸¡¿ÀýÎÄ

Dear Peter,

How¡¯s it going? The poster about protecting the environment should be handed in on Sunday next weekend. We can¡¯t wait to see the design, besides, Lily will help us to give out the poster so that more and more students will join us to save the environment. By the way, I have some advice to share with you about the design. Can we put some interesting pictures on it, such as the cute animals that are in great danger, the lovely children who are helping protect the earth or anything else. Meanwhile, we can give some suggestions about how we can do to protect the environment.

What¡¯s your opinion? Reply to me soon.

Yours,

Li Hua

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ The world¡¯s longest cross-sea bridge¡ª¡ªthe 55-km-long Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge £¨HZMB£© opened on Oct 24, 2018. The Guardian described it as one of the ¡°seven wonders of the modern world¡±.

Construction£¨½¨Öþ¹¤³Ì£©on the HZMB began in 2009 and cost about 120 billion yuan. The bridge links Hong Kong and Macao to the Chinese mainland city of Zhuhai.

The HZMB is unique in many ways. It¡¯s designed to have a service life of 120 years, 20 years longer than most bridges.

And it¡¯s not just a bridge, but also part tunnel£¨ËíµÀ£©and part island. In one section, the bridge turns into a 6.7-km undersea tunnel that passes through two man-made islands. The tunnel is the world¡¯s longest undersea tunnel for road traffic, allowing large ships to continue passing through the sea area above the tunnel.

The bridge¡¯s engineers had to consider many environmental factors in order to protect the surrounding£¨ÖÜΧµÄ£©environment while building the bridge. Chinese white dolphins, an endangered species that lives in the area, were a particular concern£¨¹Ø×¢£©.

The HZMB will make it much more convenient to travel between the three areas it connects. It will shorten the travel time from Hong Kong to Zhuhai from four hours to about 45 minutes.

By drawing local cities and regions closer together, the bridge will help in the area¡¯s development. It is expected to drive the economic£¨¾¼ÃµÄ£©development of Hong Kong, Macao and nine Guangdong cities.
