【题目】 Have you ever tried 3-D printing? A team of seven students from No. 34 Middle School in Zhengzhou, Henan, have won awards for their creative 3-D printing works.

Two of the team's works took home the top prize at the International Youth Innovation Design Competition. It was held in France this summer. One of their works had the theme "China's New Era (时代) ". The other work was an ancient Chinese palace. They sent the work as a gift to local officials in Lille, France.

The team members learned how to print in their school's 3-D printing club. They took classes twice a week to learn 3-D printing. To make 3-D printed items, they first draw a blueprint (蓝图) . Then, they use a computer to design models of the pieces they need. After that, they use a 3-D printer to print the pieces and assemble (组装) them, as Liu Songyuan, 14, said.

But knowing how to use the tools is just one part of mastering 3-D printing. One also has to have imagination. To show the theme "China's New Era", they printed out items standing for high-speed trains, bike sharing, cashless payment and online shopping. They placed these items around a dragon, which represented China. They made this work within just three hours, winning a national 3-D printing competition in China and later the international competition.

When they got to the international competition, they wanted to present something that stood for traditional Chinese culture. They were inspired (启迪) by a trip to the palace Museum. "When we saw the buildings there, we thought 'That's it!" said Zhang Jiuxing, 14. They took photos of the buildings and did a lot of research to make their 3-D-printed works more realistic (逼真的) . "We will continue to learn about this technology and make more creative things, "Zhang added.

【题目】 Most of us eat to satisfy our appetite (胃口) for delicious food. But due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), many Chinese people are changing their eating habits.

Because of busy work schedules, ordering simple and quick meals online used to be common for many young people in China. Zhang Xiaoyan, a 30-year-old from Nanjing, was one of them.在工作日,她通常在办公室吃外卖食品而不是在家下厨。Even on weekends, she would prefer takeout food, which demanded (需要) little time.

Now, she rolls up her sleeves(袖子) and cooks for herself. “Cooking sometimes is quite time-demanding but it helps me have a healthy eating habit.” Zhang told China Daily.

Instead of eating in the restaurant, cooking at home has become more and more popular. Some even share food videos on their We Chat Moments at meal times.这被认为是一种与朋友沟通的特殊方式。

Besides eating at home, many people also developed the good habit of using serving chopsticks and spoons. They thought it was not clean to use their own to eat dishes. They also eat separately in order not to get infected (感染).

Healthy eating habits and maintaining good order have become real problems for us. It’s related to people’s health and safety, and it’s also a personal responsibility during the pandemic (疫情) stated Guangming Daily.

The disease is still spreading, and more must be done to bring it under control. As long as these habits are good for our health, we should keep them from now on to fight against the virus.

【题目】Eating Together, Separately

Separate dining is common in the western culture, while in China's dining culture, whether dining at home or eating out, a grouped dining system is used in most situations.

However, the coronavirus pandemic has challenged the deep-rooted Chinese dining tradition of sharing dishes together, which inspires the government, restaurants and citizens to rethink about eating customs.

Standards on individual (供一人用的)dining, serving chopsticks (公筷)and two pairs of chopsticks came out on March 18. Here are the main points.

Individual diners' food should he served to customers in separate tableware.

Each shared dish should be served with a separate pair of serving chopsticks.

Each diner should have two pairs of differently colored chopsticks. One is to get food from shared dishes to place into individual howls, and the other is for eating from individual bowls.

The above new standards aim to protect the public health in a scientific and practical way. Over 200 companies have followed the guidelines. In order to encourage customers to follow the standards, some restaurants offer parking coupons (优惠券)to those who use serving chopsticks.

According to a survey about separate dining by think tank Thinker, nearly 89% of 100,000 interviewees believe it's more hygienic (卫生的)because it reduces the risk of infection via saliva (唾液传染).

For Chinese, it is not easy to change their dining behavior, because they think the grouped dining system is a tradition. When they share the food, they are building up a close relationship among diners. Besides, it is difficult to divide Chinese dishes into separate parts.

Eating separately is a break from tradition, but it is helpful to prevent diseases and improve health. People can still sit at the same table, sharing the same food and the same culture in a new way. It also encourages advanced cooking skills, which means a chance of creating something new in Chinese food.

【题目】 When thinking of ways to relax in life, usually things like yoga, jogging and music come to mind. These are great, to be sure. But getting a friend can also have many benefits. While human friends provide great social support, furry friends like cats and dogs can come with some great benefits.

Pets can improve people's mood. For those who love animals, it's actually impossible to stay in a bad mood when a pair of loving puppy eyes meets yours, or when a super-soft cat rubs up against your hand. The study found that people with AIDS were less likely to suffer from deep sadness if they owned a pet.

Pets also encourage people to get out and exercise. Whether people walk their dogs because they need it, or are more likely to enjoy a walk when they have companionship, dog owners do spend more time walking than non-pet owners.

While we all know the power of talking about your problems with a good friend who is a good listener, research shows that spending time with pets may be even better! People actually experience less stress(压力) when their pets are with them than when a supportive friend is present! A recent study performed by Washington State University(WSU) has proved that petting cats and dogs for just ten minutes is an effective way to reduce stress levels. The team chose 249 students and put them into four groups. The first group was provided 10 minutes to play with dogs and cats.

The second group waited in line while observing the first group. The third group watched a video of the same animals, while the fourth group was just waiting. "What we wanted to learn was whether this exposure(接触) would help students reduce their stress, and it did, "said Patricia Pendry, a professor in WSU.

It's important to realize that owning a pet isn't for everyone. It does come with additional work and responsibility, which can bring its own stress. However, for most people, the advantages of having a pet outweigh the drawbacks(缺点). Having a furry best friend can reduce stress in your life and bring you support when times get tough.

1The study performed by WSU shows that ______________.

A.people keep pets for funB.animals are good listeners

C.pets are friendlier than humansD.petting animals helps reduce stress

2What can we learn from the passage?

A.Pets can help doctors treat AIDS.

B.Dog owners are likely to exercise more.

C.Human friends are more supportive than pets.

D.Pet owners are more responsible than others.

3What is the purpose of this passage?

A.To give advice on how to keep pets.B.To draw people's attention to life stress.

C.To introduce benefits of keeping pets.D.To share ideas on how to reduce stress.
