When I was young, I always wanted a cat. But my parents disagreed. Every year I would ask for a cat, but I always got the same answer, “No.” My father said, “Cats are dirty and smell terrible.” Then it was my mom’s turn, “65. 我认为我们照顾不了猫。”
Right when I was about to give up hope, my seventeenth birthday came. My parents still disagreed, but my friends were a different story. They showed up at my front door on that day. 66. I jumped up and down happily because my dream had finally come true!
After a long time, Bandit was able to successfully mix in my family. I had prepared a lot of plans for Bandit and me. I wanted to paint pictures of us, go on road trips and dress up in fashionable clothes together. 67. He hated joining me and I often shouted at him.
Later he became closer to my mom. 68. In my opinion, nobody loved him more than I did. However, he loved my mom more. I asked my mom why. “What I do have is patience,” Mom told me. 69. Ever since then, Bandit has been teaching me to be more patient. Because of him, I became more responsible, too.

【1】I don’t think we can take care of a cat.
【3】To my surprise, Bandit was the shyest cat that I have seen.
take care of照顾,故填I don’t think we can take care of a cat.
【2】jump up and down蹦蹦跳跳,happily修饰动词jump up and down,finally最终;come true实现。
【3】to one’s surprise令某人惊奇的是;I have ever seen我曾经见过,且根据句意可知,用形容词的最高级shyest,且形容词最高级前必须加the,故填To my surprise, Bandit was the shyest cat that I have seen.
【5】ever since then从那以后;have/has been doing现在完成进行时,more patient更有耐心,故填从那以后,Bandit 一直在教我更有耐心。
About the year 1900, Charlie Chaplin (卓别林) was often seen waiting outside the back entrances of London theaters. He looked neither tall nor short. He was hoping to get work in show business. Luckily, he soon got a chance to act and it was also his first performance on the stage.
But twenty years later, this same Chaplin became the greatest, best-known comedian (喜剧演员) in the world. Any regular visitor to the cinema must have seen some of Charlie Chaplin’s films. People everywhere have laughed at them until tears have run down their faces. Even people who don’t understand English can enjoy Chaplin’s films because they mostly have no sound. It isn’t what he says that makes us laugh. It is based on little actions which mean the same thing to people all over the world.
Chaplin lived most of his life in America and died in Switzerland on Christmas Day in 1977, at the age of eighty-eight. There was sadness all over the world at the news of his death.
