somewhere一些地方;anywhere任何地方;nowhere没有地方;根据最后一段“Nowadays, when you go to a US beach, park or college campus, you will always see a Frisbee flying through the air.”

be动词原形;am主语是Iis主语是单数名词;根据“All you need”及下文“the toy itself”,all代指的是下文“the toy”,所以谓语动词用“is”,故选C

catch抓住;take带走;bring带来;根据“two or more people simply throw the thing back and forth. ”可知两个人或更多的人只是简单地来回扔飞盘,可推测出此处是“抓住”,故选A

5句意:还有其他种类的飞盘游戏。

others表泛指,相当于other +名词;other其他的,表泛指,后面加名词;another表示再一个,泛指三个或三个以上的人或者物中没有确定的另一个;根据“There are ____5____ kinds of Frisbee games, like the team sport Ultimate Frisbee.”

play动词原形;plays动词三单;playing动名词,现在分词;used to do sth表示“过去经常,以前常常”,根据“He used to ____7____ a game”可知是过去常常做什么,所以此处缺动词原形,故选A

field田野;beach沙滩;road路;根据前文“with his wife on the beach in California”可知是在沙滩上,所以此处是“beach”,故选B

toy玩具;idea主意;pan平底锅;根据“All you need is the toy itself”及“a toy company”可知是玩具,故选A

when当…… 时(引导的从句中的动词必须是延续性动词);until直到;根据“go to a US beach”是终止性动词,所以用“when”,故选A

【题目】 “Ghost of the Future!” Scrooge exclaimed, “I fear you more than any ghost I have seen. But as I know your purpose is to do me good, and as I hope to live to be another man from what I was, I am prepared to accept your company, and do it with a thankful heart. Will you not speak to me?”

The ghost gave him no reply. It stopped beside one little group of business men. Seeing that the hand was pointed to them, Scrooge advanced to listen to their talk.

“No,” said a great fat man with a monstrous chin, “I don’t know much about it, either way. I only know he’s dead.”

“When did he die?” asked another.

“Last night, I believe.”

“Why, what was the matter with him?” asked a third man, taking a vast quantity of snuff out of a very large snuff-box. “I thought he’d never die.”

“God knows,” said the first, with a yawn.

“What has he done with his money?” asked the fourth man, a red-faced gentleman with a pendulous excrescence on the end of his nose, which shook like the gills of a turkey-cock.

“I haven’t heard,” said the first man with the large chin, yawning again. “Left it to his company, perhaps. He hasn’t left it to me. That’s all I know.”

This pleasantry was received with a general laugh.

“It’s likely to be a very cheap funeral(葬礼),” said the same speaker, “for upon my life I don't know of anybody to go to it. Suppose we make up a party and volunteer?”

“I don’t mind going if a lunch is provided.” said the gentleman with the excrescence on his nose. “But I must be fed, if I make one!”

Another laugh.

“Well, I am the most disinterested among you, after all,” said the first speaker, “for I never wear black gloves, and I never eat lunch. But I’ll offer to go, if anybody else will. When I come to think of it, I’m not at all sure that I wasn’t his most particular friend; for we used to stop and speak whenever we met. Bye, bye.”

Speakers and listeners strolled away, and mixed with other groups. Scrooge knew the men, and looked towards the ghost for an answer.

The ghost glided on into a street. Its finger pointed to two persons meeting. Scrooge thought that the answer might lie here.

1How did Scrooge feel when he saw the ghost of the future?

A.Bored.B.Fearful.C.Hopeless.D.Shy.

3Who was sure to know how the dead man dealt with his money?

5What would happen next according to the last paragraph?

A.Scrooge would ask the ghost to explain to him.

B.The ghost would tell Scrooge the answer directly.

C.Scrooge would turn back to ask those businessmen to get the answer.

D.Scrooge would listen to the two persons for the possible answer.

How much do you know about Chicago, lllinois, in the United States? You might think it’s a big city. And it is Chicago is actually the third most populous city in the US, right after New York City and Los Angeles according to the US 2010 Census. “The Windy City” is Chicago’s most famous nickname (绰号). It is for good reason. The city lies right next to Lake Michigan and heavy gusts (一阵风) of wind blow through the city.

Chicago is very well known for its art and culture. In fact, TripAdvisor says that the Art Institute of Chicago is the No. 1 place to visit in the city. It is not only a school, but also a world—class art museum.

If you don’t feel like visiting a museum, your best choice is to go to Millennium Park. This is one of my personal favorites. This park holds the famous Cloud Gate, and it looks kind of like a big reflective (反光的) bean. Many people enjoy taking photos in its reflection.

Chicago also offers other fun things to do. If you enjoy heights, go visit the famous Willis Tower! You can go up to the top of it and step out onto a glass box. You’ll be standing over the city, but don’t worry — it’s completely safe. Doesn’t Chicago sound like a fun city?

If you have one day off in Chicago, what will you do for fun? Why?
