The most popular television actor in China is not Chinese. He is a South Korean actor named Kim SooHyun (金秀贤) who stars in the TV play My love from the Star (<<来自星星的你>>).

The TV play is a part of the South Korean Wave (韩流) of cultural imports to China, which includes music and fashion. South Korean “cool” influences the clothes people wear, their hairstyles and even the food they eat.
