The world’s longest high-speed rail line goes through half of China. It began on December 26, 2012.To celebrate the opening of the 2,298 kilometers line, two trains departed(出发) from stations in Beijing and Guangzhou at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m..

Running at an average(平均) speed of 300 kilometers an hour, the new route cuts travel time between Beijing and Guangzhou from over 20 hours to about eight . 155 pairs of trains run on the new line every day.
