Zongzi is a traditional food in China which is eaten on Dragon Boat Festival to honor Qu Yuan— one of the greatest poets in ancient China.
Qu Yuan threw himself into the Miluo River on May 5th according to the Chinese calendar. It is said that people jumped from boats into the river and tried to save him. But it was too late.
