Paintings in most museums are very old. Many were painted hundreds of years ago. They show us how artists painted long ago.
In New York City, there is a different kind of museum. Paintings in this museum are very new. Years from now, people will see how artists of today painted.
People go to this museum to look at the paintings. But they also go just to see the building. There is no other museum like this one. It is the work of Frank Lloyd Wright.
The museum is round and white, and high as a six-story building. Inside, the center of the building is open. There are no steps. A ramp goes around and around from top to bottom. Most people take an elevator to the top. Then they walk down the ramp in big circles. They can see paintings all around them. By the time they have seen all the paintings, they are on the first floor again.
