Dear Editor,
     I had my ears pierced without asking for permission from my mother, and she is angry with me now.
She can't accept the fact that teenagers get their ears pierced. I think it isn't a big deal for me to do this.
I argued with my mother and we were both unhappy. Can you tell me how to solve this problem?

Dear Linda,
     I read your problem from the Newsletter. In my opinion, it is silly to argue with your mother. I used
to have the same kind of problem as you. I used to wear ripped jeans and my parents disliked them. I
showed them some pictures of teens wearing ripped jeans from magazines, and I told them  my  ideas
about clothes. Finally they accepted the fact that I am no longer a child and I needed them to respect
my choice.
     Arguing is not helpful. Try to talk with your parents in a friendly way.
