【题目】 Dear daddy! How’s everything going? It’s been so many days since you went to Wuhan. Do you still remember the day before you left? I remember I saw the luggage (行李) in your bedroom. I asked you, “Are you going to leave on business?” You smiled and put your hand on my head, saying, “I’m just tidying up some clothes.”

Later that night, I learned that you and mom had asked to be sent to Wuhan and were waiting for a phone call. (A) At that moment, I hoped neither of you would get the call. However, your phone still rang. I almost cried out in fear as if I were going to Wuhan myself.

The next morning, I got up early. During breakfast, (B) you smiled and asked me if I would miss you. I pretended (假装) it was no big deal and said, “I can text you whenever I miss you.”

When you were leaving, I waved (挥手) to you until I couldn’t see you anymore. Tears flowed down my face. I later realized it was Lantern Festival. I wrote down “Bon voyage” and “Waiting for you to come back” in my notebook. I knew the people of Wuhan needed you more than I did. At night, mom sent me some photos of you and the rest of the medical team. I immediately found you in the photos. I pointed you out and yelled, “Hey, this is my daddy!” I was so proud of you!

After you left, I paid more attention to the battle against the novel coronavirus. (C)I wondered whether you would take good care of yourself. Daddy, remember to exercise and get enough rest.

We all miss you every day. I love you, my superhero, forever and ever.

I意为“我”;wondered意为“想知道”;whether意为“是否”;you would take good care of yourself意为“你会照顾好你自己”,所以整句话的翻译为:我想知道你是否会照顾好自己。

3

根据第一段中“Dear daddy! How’s everything going?” 故填his/her father/dad

4

根据第四段中“I knew the people of Wuhan needed you more than I did.”可知,作者知道武汉人民比自己更加需要自己的父母,以此表现出作者对自己父母的理解。故填I knew the people of Wuhan needed you more than I did.

I immediately found you in the photos.”和最后一段中“We all miss you every day. I love you, my superhero, forever and ever.”并结合全文可知,作者的父母去了武汉,而作者非常想念他们。故填The writer's dad/parents went to Wuhan and she/he missed him/them very much.

【题目】 There are not many people around who say they like rats(老鼠). When you see one of them, you may want to run in the opposite direction.

There is one man though who has always enjoyed staying with rats, even when he was a young boy. His name is Bart Weetjens and he comes from Belgium in Europe. As he grew up, he learned everything about rats. He knew that they have a very strong sense of smell. He realized that it might be possible to train rats to help solve a problem that troubled some Southeast Asian countries.

Clearing away unexploded bombs and landmines(未爆炸的炸弹和地雷) is a difficult job. Bart began to train rats to look for explosives. Because a rat’s sense of smell is so strong, they are able to smell a thing known as TNT that is used in bombs. And because rats are not heavy, if they place their weight on an unexploded bomb, they will not cause it to explode(爆炸).

Bart chose African Giant Pouched Rats for the job. They are well known for being calm and smart. Training begins when they are about six weeks old, and it lasts for nine months. Once trained, one rat can search up to 200m in 20 minutes. The same area would take a human up to four days. Trained rats are known as Mine Detection Rats, or MDRs, and they have worked successfully in Cambodia since 2015.

1When Bart Weetjens was a young boy, he enjoyed ____________.

2As Bart Weetjens grew up, he learned that rats have a very ____________.

When preparing for this topic, I just want to search some articles and copy them down.
