What do you think of open-book exams? Do you have anything to say about this kind of exam? Here are several opinions about open-book exams from some students and their teacher.

May:

We students have so many burdens (负担) in our school life. Maybe the examination is the greatest one. Open-book exams can make our burdens lighter, I think. At least it means that we need not learn so many things by heart any more.

Hill:

Open-book exams do not mean students do not need to recite (背) the textbooks any more. Instead, it shows how much students really understand about the textbook. It may mean we need to spend even more time learning history and politics because the open-book exam means going deeply into the textbooks.

Sun:

We need a long time to learn for history and politics exams because there are so many things to remember. And sometimes the results are not very good, even if we have spent a long time studying. But if we are able to take textbooks into our exams, we will save time and we won’t have so many headaches.

Tang (teacher):

Open-book tests are harder for students because the tests make them feel they do not need to understand the textbooks any longer. They only depend on the textbooks and spend most of their time looking for answers during exams. Sometimes they might not even be able to finish their tests because they have wasted too much time looking for answers.

A dog cant speak any words , but it can “talk”. It has feeling just as you do. Sometimes itmay feel angry or afraid . Watch a dog closely, and you can find out how it feels. You can see what it is trying to tell you. When you afraid , you may look down. When a dog is afraid, it mayrun away. When you are angry with other people, you stare at((凝视) them. An angry dog also stares. Sometimes the hair along its back stands up.

Do you feel “guilt” when you do something you shouldn’t do? Dogs can feel guilty. too. Sometimes when I come home, my dog gives me a guilty look. Then I know it did something wrong.

Dogs need love and care. Some dogs are very unhappy when they are alone for a long time. Some dogs even snap(撕咬) if they don’t get enough care.

You may have a dog or you may know a dog. Take care of it well if you want to have fun with it. Take it on walks. Don’t make it do too many things . Always remember, a dog has needs and feelings just as you do. Talk to a dog, and it will talk to you.

Linda Edwards was full of happiness because her lost cat Spas was returned to her 12 years after he went missing!

Spas went missing in 2002 and Edwards looked for him every day for three months. She searched all around her town and even wrote letters to some newspapers for help. But she was never able to find him. At the end of the three months, her search stopped.

But someone recently discovered a dirty, thin stray(流浪的;走失的)cat in the street and took him into West Flamingo Animal Hospital. The people working in the hospital checked the cat and were sure enough that his name was Spas and he belonged to Linda Edwards!

"An old lady found the cat on Sunday and brought him here. We scanned(扫描)his microchip(微芯片)and we were able to find out his owner. The cat, whose name is Spas, has been missing for 12 years! " said a doctor.

It is a way to recognize pets by scanning their microchips if the stray animals belong to anyone who could be missing them. It also allows animal services to know if the animals have a family waiting for them. Linda was very thankful that she had Spas taken the microchip and was so excited to get him back!

"I have a second chance to play with my cat," she said. "This would never have happened if there were no microchips. "

1.Who took the cat to the animal hospital?

2.How did the animal hospital know the owner?

3.If you have a pet, will you have your pet taken the microchip? Why or why not?
