Santa Claus is a very old man who is said to live at the North Pole(北极)．He is really fat, always in red, and loves to laugh．He works hard all the year round to make gifts and brings them to children at Christmas time．On Christmas Eve, the night before Christmas, always after the children have gone to bed, he visits every house．He always comes down the chimney(烟囱)and puts the gifts under the Christmas tree where the children will find them the next morning．Many children leave some food for hin because he is working so hard that he might get hungry．Nobody knows how Santa Claus can get to all those houses in just one evening．Nobody knows how he is able to get down all these chimneys－after all(毕竟),he is quite fat．Is there really such an old nice man at the North Pole? Maybe not．But every time you do a kind thing, and every time you say a nice word, then you know that Santa Claus really exists(存在)．He is right there with us all．
