I worried about Brent. He just didn’t do so well as some of his classmates我担心布伦特。
Unless除非;Although虽然;If如果;As当……时;根据句意理解可知,句中a class of excellent students和I worried about Brent. He just didn't so well as some of his classmates的意思相反,所以although符合语境。
He just didn’t do so well as some of his classmates可知,Brent的“成绩”一般。
If his math grade fell down a bit, he’d work to get it higher可知,Brent不会轻言放弃,所以easily比较符合题意。
take拿;stand站立;pass通过;give给;根据句意理解及句中的failed及前句He didn’t give up___4___.
me我;himself他自己;him他;her她;根据句意理解及前句Unlike the other students who would often tried to be “____6____” than others可知,这里表达的是“他自己”,暗示他很难超过别人,所以应该用himself,故选B。
decision决定;goal目标;agreement同意;place地方;根据句意理解及文中his goal for the whole year was the AB Honor List和although he’d never made the honor list可知,Brent整年的目标就是进入“AB荣誉榜”,尽管他从没有实现过,但他不放弃这个目标。
rudely粗鲁地;excitedly兴奋地;doubtfully怀疑地;impatiently不耐烦的;根据句意理解及文中His eyes lit up.
