Once upon a time there was no tea at all in England. People there used to drink light beer(Æ¡¾Æ).No coffee or milk but large glasses of beer stood on the breakfast table!

When tea was first brought to England, an old couple got some as a special treat. But they did not know how it should be used. They cooked the leaves in hot water, and spread them on a piece of bacon(ѬÈâ)which they were going to have for dinner. They ate the

leaves, and threw the tea away! However, tea is becoming as popular as coffee and milk in England today.

Tea is the leaf of a plant which grows widely in China, Japan and some other countries. Tea farmers usually grow a great many tea plants on a large piece of land. When the tea leaves are ready to be picked, it is the busiest time for tea farmers in the year. They pull off the leaves and dry them. Save the Wild Tiger

When people think of tigers, they think: strong and dangerous.

But now, the big animal is calling for our help.

There were once eight kinds of in the world, but three died out during the 20th century. In the last 70 years, the of Siberian tigers (¶«±±»¢) has gone from as many as 300 to 22 somewhere. The Siberian tiger has been dying out completely. If the government doesn't make any efforts, it's quite that there will be no more Siberian tigers in China in ten to twenty years.

In order to double the number of wild tigers in the ten years, the World Wildlife Fund (ÊÀ½ç×ÔÈ»»ù½ð»á) has started a program recently. It save wild tigers and put an end to tiger hunting and killing. China, together with twelve other , has joined in.

Wild animals, such as red deer and wild pigs, are the main of the tigers. The hunting of these animals is the greatest threat (Íþв) to tigers. Going to a British school for one year was an exciting time for me. A British school starts at around 9 a.m. and ends at about 3:30 p.m. It means I could stay in bed for one more hour.

On the first day, all the new students had a meeting. The headmaster told us about the school rules. He also told us that the best way to get respect(×ðÖØ) was to study hard and get high grades. This sounded like my school in China.

We had to move to different classrooms for different classes. We also had different students in some classes, so it was difficult for me to remember all the faces and names.

I found that the homework was not as heavy as what I did in my old school. Yet it was a bit difficult for me at first, because all the homework was in English. We had many subjects: English, History, Science, Art and so on, but we can stop studying some subjects if we have no interest in them. Then they can choose some other subjects.

I missed Chinese food a lot at lunch. British food is very different. British people like eating desserts(Ìðµã) which usually come after their main meal. After lunch, we usually played on the school playground or relaxed under a tree.

I felt very lucky to experience this different way of life. I really hope to go back and study in Manchester again.
