The school day begins at 8:45.Class teachers meet the class and check who is present and absent at the beginning of the day. We meet as a whole school once a week on Fridays. The head teacher makes a speech to the whole school. Linda Evans was my best friend—like the sister I never had. We did everything together: piano lessons, movies, swimming.

When I was 13, my family moved away. Linda and I kept in touch through letters, and we saw each other on special time—like my wedding and Linda’s. Ye Xiaogang is known as one of the most famous modern Chinese composers．

He learned to play the piano at the age of four．His father was a composer who wrote a lot of music for films．But when his father was sent to a farm to work．Ye was only 11 at that time．
