1. How do you get to school?询问交通方式。
—How do you come to school?
—I come to school by car. (I take the car to school.)
2. How long does it take... ?询问做某事所需要的时间。
—How long does it take you to go to work by bike?你骑车上学花多长时间？
— It takes me half an hour.要花我半小时。
3.—How far is it from... to... ?询问两地之间的距离。
—How far is it from your home to the train station?从你家到火车站有多远？
It’s about five kilometers.大约五公里。
而后两个问题常常容易混淆。“How far”询问距离时，回答语可以是距离，如：3 meters , 或是 3 kilometers 等，同时也可以用 3 minutes’ walk,3 hours’ train ride 等;“How long”的回答语，则是具体的时间，如:3 minutes,3 hours等，当然“How long”还可以询问物体的长度，如：—How long is the river? —It’s 3,000 kilometers long.
