　　A study suggests that the United States needs to work on training and keeping scientists.

　　Since 1980, the number of jobs that need science and engineering (S&E) knowledge has increased (增加). And each year in the US, the number of jobs that need S&E skills increases by 5%.

　　In the next 20 years, many talented people with S&E knowledge will retire (退休), because more than half of them now are in their 40s or older and 30% of them are 55 or older.
