【题目】Many rules govern drivers on American streets and highways. The most common ones are the speed limits(限制). The speed limits control how fast a car may go.

On streets in the city, the speed limitis usually 25 or 35 miles per hour.On the highways between cities, the speedlimit is usually 55 miles per hour. When people drive faster than the speedlimit, a policeman can stop them. The policemen give them pieces of paper which people call traffic tickets. Traffic tickets tell the drivers how much money they must pay. When drivers receive too many tickets, they probably cannot drive for a while.

The rush hour is when people are going to work or going home from work. At rush hour there are many cars on the streets and traffic moves very slowly. Nearly all American cities have rush hours. 【题目】Switzerland is one of the most developed countries in Europe. It is famous as one of the cleanest countries in the world.

The Swiss think that recycling is very important. The government has made laws (法律) which require everyone to recycle. In 1998, the Swiss government passed a law which says that people can not throw away any electronic machines. Instead, people are told to bring old ones, such as televisions, computers and fridges, to special centers when they didn’t need them. Many parts of the old machines are reused, and only the parts that cant be used are thrown away. The government also charges(收费) a rubbish bag tax(税收). If people want their rubbish to be collected, they must buy yellow stickers(张贴物) and put them on their rubbish bags. In 2003, 47% of all rubbish in the cities was recycled. This included 70% of paper, 95%of glass, 71%of plastic bottles and 8590%of cans. Until recently, people could get a small amount of money when they recycled their bottles.
