【题目】From the time we were babies we have been taught our manners. We are taught how to hold a knife and a fork and not to talk with our mouths full. We are taught how to shake hands and when to stand and when to sit and the way to introduce people.
Sometimes good manners in one place are very bad manners somewhere else.
Almost everywhere eating together means that you are very friendly to each other. But in parts of Polynesia(波利尼西亚) it is bad manners to be seen eating at all. They politely turn their backs on each other when they are having food.
Some East Africans spit four times as a kind of blessing. They do it to show that they want a sick person to get well, or to bless a new-born baby. In most other places, spitting means just something completely different. It's something that shows that you hate someone.
When we go to visit someone we say "Hello", and "How are you” and things like that.
If you are visiting an East African village, everyone will be very careful not to pay attention to you. The polite thing there will be for you to go quietly, without speaking to anyone, and sit beside your friend. You should wait until he has finished what he is doing and then he will begin talking to you.
In a village in Arab, a visitor should walk behind all the tents(帐篷) until he gets to the one he wants to visit. If he passes in front, he will be invited into each tent and asked to eat. It is rude(粗鲁的) to refuse.

【题目】任务型阅读。
American country music is also known as country western music. Country music uses simple music and words to express everyday feelings such as loneliness love, and sadness. It talks about friends and enemies, trucks and roads, farms and crops. People in many parts of the world like country music, because everyone can understand what the music is about.
It has a very long history. It comes from the folk songs of immigrants (移民) from Britain. Country western music became popular first among cowboys from the American west countryside. Cowboys had to take care of cows day- and night. When they were alone with the cows, they often sang beautiful and peaceful songs to calm the animals and to get over their own fear. They were not well-educated and so they sang about their daily life in very simple words. They played the guitars, the violins, and other instruments. In the South of America, many people added instruments from their homes, like bottles and spoons. When cowboys visited their friends and families on holidays like Thanksgiving, they usually sang and played country western music.
In recent years, many musicians have made country western music a little different from the one in the past. These changes make the songs sound even better. Today singers as Carth Brooks, LeAnn Rimes, and a group called Alabama are singing and playing in different styles. They have brought country western music more and more fans from all over the world.
