When Abraham Lincoln was just a boy, he had to help his father to look after their farm. It was hard work and there wasn’t anything interesting for him. Abraham wanted to go to school, but there was no school there. He was sad most of the time.

The boy asked, "Daddy, how much do you make per hour?" The father was furious at his son's question.
When he said $20 an hour, the little boy asked his father to lend $10 to him. The father was even angrier because he thought the boy just wanted some money to buy a toy. So he didn't answer his son.

Sally was a student. It was going to be her mother's birthday. She wanted to buy her a present that would be nice and useful but not expensive.
