I
like all kinds of chocolate. Best of all, 46 ,I like bitter chocolate.
Mother had bought a bar of it, and somehow I couldn’t help 47
it.
I
was helping Father on the cart. It was right then that I got an idea. I could
cut a 48 off the end of that
bar of chocolate. Mother could be
49 to miss it, but
before she had any 50 who had done it, I could admit I’d taken it.
Probably, I would not even 51 a scolding(责骂).
I
waited until Mother was 52 feeding the chickens. Then I told Father
I thought I’d go in for a 53 of water. I got the bar down, but I heard
Mother 54 just when I had the knife 55 to cut. So I had to put the chocolate
quickly 56 the front of my shirt and left.
Before going back to 57 Father. I went to my room and 58
the chocolate there, and pretended to drink some water.
All the 59 of the afternoon, I didn’t 60
to look at Father. Every
time he spoke it made me jump. My hands began 61 so much that he asked me what was the
matter. I told him it was just 62 my hands were cold. I knew he didn’t
believe me, and every time he looked my 63
, at once I couldn’t prevent my heart 64 beating fast. I didn’t want the chocolate
any more. I just wanted to get a chance to put it back without being 65 .
