Last night, I had an interesting dream. In the dream I accidental got a magic pen with that I could write beautiful Chinese characters. Then I took part a calligraphy competition. With the help of the pen I got a first place. I became famous soon but a lot of people came to beg me for some characters. But when I picked the pen up and wrote down a character, I find out it very ugly. The pen no longer has magic. Then I was scaring awoken. I know that in the world there is not magic pen. Only by working hard can I write beautiful character.

They were confident that the 12-year-old girl would reach her goal of making 50,000 of her “Joy Jars” which were filled with candy and toys for sick children. They were exploring other medical treatments in Europe. They continued to pray and encouraged others to do the same. Unfortunately, their prayers were answered differently than they hoped.

“We have prayed and prayed and prayed for sweet Jessie to be treated here on earth but God’s plan was to use heaven for her treatment,” they wrote on Facebook when Jessie died on Thursday, after a 10-month battle with brain cancer.

Jessica began her blog and Facebook page after being found with a brain tumor in March, six months before a second one was found. Jessica wrote on Facebook that her task was “to encourage kids fighting cancer to NEVER EVER GIVE UP by spreading hope, joy and love. A cheerful heart is great medicine”.

“I love spreading joy to kids with our Joy Jars. I love reading all of the posts on Facebook. I love having so many people praying for me. I love that people are supporting NEVER EVER GIVE UP and allowing us to help kids. I love my family and all of my new friends,” the 12-year-old wrote.

“Thank you all for honoring Jessie by helping her reach her 50,000 goal today. We will NEVER EVER GIVE UP spreading hope, joy and love to kids fighting cancer. Jessie’s dream is now our goal!” her parents wrote on her Facebook page shortly after she died.

Dear Mandy,

I’m not doing well in my lessons at school especial in maths. My dad says must try hard because he wants me go to university. He thinks I’m lazy, but it’s not true. I work really hard, often study late into the night! I’ve tried to talk to my mother, but she always said I have to work as hard like my brother does. The end of the term is drawing near, and that means final exams are on the way. 【1】

The most important thing you can do is give yourself plenty of time to prepare. Then follow this plan:

Start early.

Gather all the material you’ve received during the term. Read through your class notes twice. Some things will sound familiar and some things will sound unfamiliar. That’s normal.

Establish a study group or find a partner.

Schedule at least one meeting with a study partner or study group. If you can't completely get together, then exchange email addresses.【2】

Use old tests.

Collect your old exams from the year (or semester) and make a photocopy of each one. Write out the test answers and copy each one again.

To get the best results, you should make several copies of each old exam and keep taking the tests until you score perfectly on each one.

Build up your class notes.

Organize your notes by date and make note of any missing dates/pages. Get together with a study partner or group to compare notes and fill in any missing material. 【4】Everybody zones out once in a while. After you organize your new set of notes, underline any key words, formulas, themes, and concepts.

Make yourself a new practice test with term definitions and others. Print out several tests and practice several times. 【5】 Then exchange.

Three years later, a friend and I started our own fan magazine about comics. It became the first place that regularly told people when their favorite comics were coming out and writers and artists were working on them. Because of the magazine, I won the awards for The Comic Reader, but more important, it got many of the people in the field to know who I was.

One day when I was visiting DC Comics for news for my next issue, one of the editors a chance to write text for his comic. Suddenly, at 16, I was getting paid to write.

I was able to pay for my college classes working as an assistant editor at DC Comics and learned how to write comics stories while I was there. I wrote hundreds of stories. Over the years, I worked as an editor and an executive (主管) for the company, eventually serving as a president and publisher, until earlier this year. Now I’m back to my first love, writing comics again.

Every morning, I open my e-mail and find pages of art sent in by artists across the country who draw my stories. When I’m tired of working on the stories, I can go online and find my readers commenting on my stories or telling me when I make mistakes.
