5.About a couple of years ago,10people were brought together from across the country,by a common gift-their ability to sing.That important (38)A has grown into a volunteer     organization that has (39)C over﹩16,000to charities(慈善团体) in their own neighborhood.
Most of us had (40)C  met.We were brought together by a young woman who had an opportunity to produce a Christmas (41)B for a local theater group,but she needed ten people who loved to (42)B,had the talent for performing,and were (43)A to put hundreds of hours to practice to make it work.
The show won great (44)C,and through our time together,we became a family,
(45)B  than we ever could have imagined,so we (46)D those wonderful moments every year.The previous meeting place,however,couldn't be available (使用) to us,so we were forced to (47)D  ourselves to find a place to (48)B again.
The process of organization turned into a group called One Acchord Performance Company,a non-profit company(49)A  entirely by volunteers.One Acchord now produces a (50)C    Christmas show that is(51)B by the entire community.Our numbers have grown and our audience continue to grow as more people come to(52)D what we are doing,which enables us to(53)A more and contribute more.In addition,some members of the audience tell us that it wouldn't be Christmas without(54)D the One Acchord show.
It has (55)C to be a win-win-win for all of us,for our community,and those in need.And all because God brought together a group of (56)C to whom he had given the gift of music.Now they(57)A their gift freely.

2.Everyone seems to be living for someone else.
I had once helped a friend run a watermelon stall.I noticed something interesting:almost every buyer would lift the melon up to their ear,and tap it,apparently trying to listen to something.I wondered what they expected to hear. Finally I could no longer hold back my curiosity and asked a customer-an elderly gentleman-about this.Hearing my question,he roared with laughter. Then he replied in a self-mocking (自嘲) tone,"Young lady,I have been doing this for more than fifty years. But all I know is that everybody would stare at you as if you were a fool if you just pick up a melon and leave!"
Not long after that,my watermelon stall friend sent me an invitation to her wedding, which really surprised me.I asked her,"Why are you seized by a sudden desire to get married?I don't remember ever hearing you mention that you've got a boyfriend."She answered while counting money,"Everyone has to get married anyway,so it is better to get married sooner than later."
I could think of no word to refute (反驳) her.It seems that everybody is living for everybody else and has forgotten the need of their own heart. It may be safe and save a lot of worries by following others'suit in doing things. The use of WE or US will give one a steady and sure sense of pride. But why do people usually feel uneasy when using"I"?.
I find all these things somewhat funny. We have got used to following others'example. We feel at ease and justified simply because this is a way of US,a way which has been practiced by so many people. But is this massive practice really right?

25.Why did the elderly gentleman tap the watermelon before buying it?C
A.Because he expected to hear something.
B.Because he was a fool.
C.Because he just wanted to follow the crowd.
D.Because it was his habit and it was hard for him to give it up.

1.A scanner is recently created by a group of professors.It is believed to predict the perfect job for anyone simply by reading their fingerprints.The group says that in the future,fingerprints could help tell a person's key personalities.
To use the scanner,people place their fingers upon the fingerprint reader and computer technology connected with sensors (传感器) reads back what sort of job could suit the individual.The machine bases its results on a collection of a large amount of information in the computer about how fingerprint shapes connect with job selection.
Local companies help researchers from the city's Kuban University of Physical Education and Sport to test the technology.
Twenty-one-year-old Oscar Galkin,a mathematics graduate,said:"I got the result from the scanner that I would suit a job in IT,which is exactly what I want to do.I don't know if it is luck or if it can really read a person's talents,but it worked for me."
And Zara Tokareva,aged 20,who feels uncomfortable at the sight of blood,said:"I want to be a house designer but the machine said I should be a nurse.So,no,I don't think it is as clever as expected."
Though fingerprint identification has been widely used in crime discovering,it is still a science that has a lot of possibility of being used,say experts,from discovering drug misuse to personality analysis-exactly as hand readers have been saying to do for centuries.
"The basic idea is that although everybody's fingerprints are completely different, there are obvious features that are common on the fingers of certain professionals working in certain jobs,"said researcher Ravil Yudin.
It's not really a new idea because hand readers have been saying for hundreds of years that you can tell a person's future by reading their hands.We want to match that by looking at fingerprints and trying to tell what career path people would choose.

33.From the text we know that the fingerprint scannerA.
A.matches fingerprints with jobs
B.tells people's personality
C.helps collect job information
D.reads individual's mind
34.What can we learn from what Ravil Yudin said?B
A.The fingerprint scanner is based on a new idea.
B.Cerain people's fingers actually have something in common.
C.Telling one's future by reading his hands started a few years ago.
D.The technology of fingerprint identification can be used in many fields.
35.What is the main idea of the passage?C
A.Hand readers are widely used in life.
B.A fingerprint scanner could tell a person's personality.
C.A fingerprint scanner could predict a person's job.
D.A fingerprint scanner could be used in crime discovering.
20.There are various camps.Have you heard about"Survival Camp"?"Survival Camp"is for children to go into the lonely place for exciting activities.Now about 1,100 companies are allowed to take children into the great outdoors without their parents.
The reason why people like"Survival Camp"is that they think getting close to nature is good for children.Many children in big cities spend all time watching TV and playing computer games."Survival Camp"gives them an important change.
Is"Survival Camp"a wonderful idea?Maybe it is.Children need more free time to play.They need to be left on their own,without adults disturbing (打扰) them.Parents care too much about their children.They like to see the children being busy with activities that are controlled by adults but children don't know what to do when they are in danger.Even something like crossing a small river seems to be a hard challenge.Children are not comfortable with danger.Even small danger like getting their feet wet or falling down seems very terrible to them.
Many people think the survival activities are good for children.Even years later,they will still remember what they have learned.Some have learned to stay calm in different times.Some have learned how to keep safe.Others have learned how to work in a team.All these skills will help them a lot in their lives.

25.What is"Survival Camp"according to the passage?D
A.It is for children to have fun with parents.
B.It is for children to improve study skills.
C.It is for children to escape from danger.
D.It is for children to go into the lonely place for exciting activities.
