The economics major student wanted to improve her academic performance, so she set up the study club together with her friends. “The club has attracted dozens of students. We urge each other to study hard and practise self-study activities after class,” says Cui. “I think the club has made studying less boring and difficult.”

By providing us with experience of two students, the passage shows the benefits of joining campus clubs, including helping with their entertainment, broadening their sight and imagination, helping with their studies and preparing for a future career.

When it comes to the campus activities, I immediately remember the first day when I came to this school and saw the bicycle club taking in its new members. Leaning that it was good for me to develop my interest and build up my body, I therefore signed up my name to join it. I took exercise and enjoyed myself every day. Gradually, I felt energetic but my studies fell behind others, which worried my parents as well as myself.

Undoubtedly, campus activities and studies influence each other. When handled properly, campus activities can refresh us, enabling us to be more enthusiastic for studies. What’s more, during the activities, we apply the theory into practice, which of course helps to broaden our horizons. On the other hand, as energy and time are limited, too much devotion to the activities may wear us out, resulting disappointing grades in our studies.

We ought to strike a balance between campus activities and studies. Firstly, as a student, studies must come first, so we have to spend enough time and energy on the lessons to guarantee our excellent academy performance. And then, since colorful campus activities can light up our school life, we can choose a certain suitable activities to enjoy ourselves and live our young life to the fullest.
