Dear Andrew,

Very happy to hear from you and you¡¯re welcome to study in our school for the next two months. As for the question about the transportation to and from school. I¡¯d like to recommend you riding a bike.. Here are some reasons.

Firstly, riding a bike to and from school is very common among the students, for buying or repairing a bike doesn¡¯t cost a lot. Secondly, parking a bike is easy and convenient in our school, no matter how busy the traffic could be. Actually, bike-riding is also a practical way to exercise and is environmentally---friendly. What you have to do is just to keep a proper speed while riding . Remember to lock it whenever necessary. In this way, you will feel it simple and relaxing to ride a bike here.

Hopefully, what I¡¯ve mentioned above could be helpful and wish you a fun time in our school.

Yours,

Li Hua

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿It¡¯s considered to be the most important meal of the day, but do you really take the time to put together a healthy meal first thing in the morning? If you¡¯re watching your weight, skipping breakfast will damage your efforts to lose weight. ¡¾1¡¿ It can also speed up your metabolism (г´úл).

Making breakfast a habit may not be easy. Use these tips to make eating breakfast a habit:

Get up earlier.¡¾2¡¿ Get up ten to fifteen minutes before your regular wake-up time that you have enough time to prepare a tasty meal before your day begins. Try to make time to include breakfast in your daily schedule and stick to it so it becomes a habit.

Plan your meals ahead of time.¡¾3¡¿ Put together three or four different breakfast recipes that you know you will actually eat. A little planning can help you make eating breakfast a habit as soon as possible.

Be selective. Buy a handful of ingredients to put together a healthy breakfast yourself, instead of relying on prepared breakfast food and snacks.¡¾4¡¿ If you don¡¯t like ¡°traditional¡± breakfast foods, eat what you like so that you¡¯re willing to stick with it to make eating breakfast a habit.

¡¾5¡¿ If you¡¯re working out in the morning, plan to eat breakfast within an hour after your workout so your body can recover. Again, planning ahead will make eating this meal a part of your daily routine.

A. The fresher the food, the better.

B. Breakfast is the first meal of the day.

C. Eat breakfast around your workout schedule.

D. Developing the habit of eating breakfast is important.

E. Eating breakfast can reduce your hunger later in the day.

F. Being rushed for time is a common excuse to skip breakfast.

G. Make sure you include a variety of healthy food choices for breakfast.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿A year ago, Marian Wilson was just-a university student looking for a quiet and peaceful place to study, but it seems she wasn¡¯t the only one. Her once quiet study room became a busy eating and meeting place. Now she has turned it into a book cafe. Helen Sheldon talked to Marian just before the opening of the cafe. Her study room has been one of the most popular meeting places for university students. It all started a year ago when she was preparing for graduation, she was looking for a place to study and write her final project. She couldn¡¯t stand the dark unfriendly feeling of the library. She preferred a comfortable, sunny study room so she rented the top floor of an old house near the university and spent her afternoons reading books and working on her project. Then word spread and her friends started turning up. It was a great place to relax, talk and compare ideas. They even started leaving their books behind and leaving some money for the things they used, like coffee and pens etc. She also doesn¡¯t want a stressful nine-to-five job. She¡¯s trying to find a lifestyle that suits her.

She knows she¡¯ll enjoy it. It¡¯s going to be a challenge but, hopefully, she¡¯ll also have time to write. Actually, She wants to be a writer but she knows it¡¯s difficult to make a living doing that. There¡¯s a need for relaxing places like this for people - especially students - to eat, talk and have fun without spending too much money. If the feeling of the place is right, people are going to come to the cafe. Anyway, it¡¯s more than just a business decision. It¡¯s also a decision about the lifestyle she wants to have and about trying to create something new and different. It opens tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. so she can come by for something to eat, drink or just to have a chat.

¡¾1¡¿What¡¯s the title of the passage?

A. From Schoolgirl to Businesswoman B. Open a Cafe to drink

¡¾2¡¿Her study room was built

A. just before she graduated from university

B. just after she graduated from university

C. a year before she left university

D. as soon as she entered the university

¡¾3¡¿Marian¡¯s friends started to come to her study room because .

A. it was a nice place to study B. the library was too dark

C. they liked to eat there D. it was the quiet to drink coffee

¡¾4¡¿Marian really wants to be .

A. a business owner B. a writer

C. a university student D. a university teacher
