There was a rich man who carried many treasures to look into happiness. But after a long march, he fails to find happiness. 2.fails改为failed
考查谓语动词的时态。本文主要讲述的是过去的事，故要用一般过去时，因此要把fails 改failed.
3.while 改为when
考查关系副词。句意：他坐在一条山路旁，这个时候一个扛着一大堆柴火的农夫从山上下来。当从句的谓语动词是短暂性动词，而且主句的谓语动词也是短暂性动词时，一般用when。 分析本句的主从句的谓语动词可知都是短暂性动词（sit和came），故要用when.
