Cheating can happen in a lot of different ways．When people cheat，it's not fair to other people，like the kids who studied for the test or who the true winners of a game were．

If you were sick or upset about something the night before and couldn't study，it would be better to talk with the teacher about this．And if you don't have enough time to study for a test because of swim practice，you need to talk with your parents about how to balance swimming and school．
A kid who thinks cheating is the only way to pass a test needs to talk with the teacher and his or her parents so they can find some solutions together．Talking about these problems and working them out will feel better than cheating．

1．Down-to-earth means being honest，open，and easy to deal with．It is a pleasure to find someone who is down-to-earth．A person who is down-to-earth is easy to talk to．He or she accepts others as equals．A down-to-earth person may be an important member of society，of course，but they do not let their importance go to their heads，and they do not consider themselves to be better than others who are less important．Someone who is filled with self-importance and pride，often without cause，is said to have his nose in the air．There is no way a person with his nose in the air can be down-to-earth．
Americans use another expression that is similar in some way to down-to-earth．The expression is both feet on the ground．Someone with both feet on the ground is a person with a good understanding of reality．He has what is called common sense．He may have dreams but he does not allow them to block his knowledge of what is real．The opposite kind of person is one who has his head in the clouds．A man with his head in the clouds is a dreamer whose mind is not in the world．Sometimes such a dreamer can be brought back to reality； and sharp words from the teacher，for example，can usually get a daydreaming student to put both feet back on the ground．

"The biggest challenge to secure a good job with my training and skill set would be to keep up with all the different products and new designs，"he says．"I have only been in the industry for a few  years  but even  my  boss，who  has been  doing this  for  many  years，is  still  leaming  new things all the time．"
Sherrard's passion for his skill has brought him this far but his thirst for leaming keeps pushing him further．He's already planning to go back to school to study engineering．

5．Among the more colorful characters of Leadville's golden age were H．A．W．Tabor and his second wife，Elizabeth McCourt，better known as"Baby Doe"．Their history is fast becoming one of the legends of the Old West．Horace Austin Warner Tabor was a school teacher in Vermont．With his first wife and two children he left Vermont by covered wagon in 1855to homestead in Kansas．Perhaps he did not find farming to his liking，or perhaps he was lured（诱惑） by rumors of fortunes to be made in Colorado mines．At any rate，a few years later he moved west to the small Colorado mining camp known as California Gulch，which he later renamed Leadville when he became its leading citizen．"Great deposits of lead are sure to be found here．"he said．

Finally one day in the year 1878，so the story goes，two miners came in and asked for"grub"．Tabor had decided to quit supplying it because he had lost too much money that way．These were persistent，however，and Tabor was too busy to argue with them．"Oh help yourself．One more time won't make any difference，"He said and went on selling shoes and hats to other customers．The two miners took﹩17 worth of supplies，in return for which they gave Tabor a one-third interest in their findings．They picked a barren（贫瘠的）place on the mountain side and began to dig．After nine days they struck a rich vein of silver．Tabor bought the shares of the other two men，and so the mine belonged to him alone．This mine，known as the"Pittsburgh Mine，"made﹩1，300，000 for Tabor in return for his﹩17 investment．Later Tabor bought the Matchless Mine on another barren hillside just outside the town for﹩117，000．This turned out to be even more unbelievable than the Pittsburgh，yielding﹩35，000worth of silver per day at one time．Leadville grew．Tabor became its first mayor，and later became lieutenant（助理） governor of the state．
